Open Architecture/New York is requesting applications for a Project Coordinator to re-design a multi-purpose outdoor space for Bard High School Early College (BHSEC).
Part of the space was under scaffolding the past years and the school is now looking to improve the yard into a more welcoming and aesthetically pleasing gathering space.
The Project Coordinator is a volunteer position that will work closely with the OACNY board and representatives of BHSEC throughout the duration of the project. The project is divided into two phases. Phase 1 involves developing a set of conceptual drawings and estimated budget for funding grant applications. Phase 2 involves developing construction drawings and organizing build days to install the design after funding is secured.
Work with the Director of Projects and BHSEC on providing project specific goals and updates;
Develop concept, construction drawings, and budget;
Coordinate with mural artist who would restore his mural in the same space;
Manage a team of volunteers;
Work with OACNY board, volunteers, and BHSEC to plan build days;
Ensure that the project meets the mission and standards of OACNY throughout the duration of the project.
Knowledge of construction and site design;
Abilities to lead and manage a team;
Experience in community projects;
Skills in Adobe Suite, drafting and modeling programs (AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, etc).
